As commuter, it is a must to always pull the cord to make the bus driver know that I want to get off the next stop. I have never been a commuter in the USA but not until after I came over california and live life outside the monastery. Living alone is one of the challenges i encountered after leaving the portals of my community in New Mexico. It took me almost a year to get myself adjusted to the lifestyle and the ways of life outside the monastery. Since then, i know now that to get off the bus on the next stop, I only need to pull the cord or push a button situated on the handlers.
