it was one of the challenging jobs ...

One of the challenging jobs that I was assigned to do in the monastery was to do the breakfast setup at night when everybody was already in their cells and were already asleep.

It was challenging because I needed to stay late at night in order to do the setup at the kitchen and refectory of the monastery.

The time i spent in setting for breakfast ate up my  sleeping time and therefore shortened my hours of sleep. This gave me a real trouble waking up at 3:30Am to prepare for the first prayers of the  day which was at 4:00AM.

working at the kitchen with a Med-tech and a cook at RB Retirement community

I am the current Activity Director in a retirement home here in Valley Village, and one part of my job is to work as a team with the Kitchen staff and Medication staff.

This enables me to monitor the current conditions of our residents as far as their diet and medication conditions are concerned.

Knowing how they are and what may be their conditions are in a day, helps me make adjustments in their activity-of-the-day schedule so as to be able to make them attend and enjoy it without further conflict and complications.

For I knew that attending activity adds more meaning and worth to their life.

After all, activity is considered as the heart and soul of a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly!

love of God

What does God require of us? Simply that we love as He loves! God is love and everything He does flows from His love for us. God loved us first and our love for Him is a response to His exceeding grace and kindness towards us.

The love of God comes first and the love of neighbor is firmly grounded in the love of God. The more we know of God's love and truth the more we love what He loves and reject what is hateful and contrary to His will.

What makes our love for God and his commands grow in us? Faith in God and hope in His promises strengthens us in the love of God. They are essential for a good relationship with God and for being united with Him. The more we know of God the more we love Him and the more we love Him the greater we believe and hope in His promises. The Lord Jesus, through the gift of the Holy Spirit, gives us a new freedom to love as He loves.

Do you allow anything to keep you from the love of God and the joy of serving others with a generous heart? Paul the Apostle says: hope does not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit which has been given to us. Do you know the love which conquers all?
