gym workout

Doing workout at the gym has been my personal way of life since I was in the Philippines many years ago. I was still in my late thirties when I began going to the gym. I still remember the gym facility which was located near the vicinity of San Juan De letran in Intramuros, Manila.

I was, then, renting a small room in Flores Building at the back of Manila Cathedral and that made sense why I chose that gym facility nearby.

When I joined the monastery, my body system was painfully craving for the workouts that I used to do and so I requested my superior to provide me a set of gym equipment. I was glad he allowed me to buy some equipment. I got benchpress, a set of barbels and dumbbells.

When I left the monastery in 2010, my body still craved for the regular workouts. I tried to do alternative physical exercises but it didn't suffice the body aches and physical lethargy that I was experiencing. My energy level went down. I became prone to colds virus and experienced  muscular degeneration.

Because of this experience, I made a decision. It was in year 2010 when I decided to enroll in a gym facility near the apartment where I lived.
Now, this year is my 4th year of membership in the 24-Hour Fitness Gym in Panorama City.

in year 1994, I was commisioned to be moderator of a college mountaineering org in San Beda

In year 1994, I was asked to be moderator of a college mountaineering org in San Beda College, Mendiola, Manila. As its moderator, I was thus, compelled to join the group everytime they would climb a mountain on weekends as part of their primary activity.

This required me then, to acquire mountaineering gadgets and equipment like backpack, carabiner for rappeal purposes, and cookset.

My experience as mod gave me pleasant and challenging moods as I was dealing with  16 to 18 yr old college students who thought that their mod was only five years older than them when the truth was, I was already 38 years old. Somehow, I did not experience some kind of generation gap because my physical profile didn't show them that I was in my late thirties.

I saw, I climbed, I conquered Chama canyon!

Proofs of my conquest! With monkbrothers and nuns of our neighboring community of Benedictine sisters of the monastery of our Lady of the Desert, I climbed the canyon finally! This was in May 30th of year 2005.

monks come to camp, too

This was held in the ridge owned by the monks of the community of St Vincent monastery in latrobe Pennsylvania. I was with them for two semesters in year 2009 but eventually left in January 2010 to attend to my mother who had a freak accident that caused her life a year later. The accident made her sit on her whe chair and this made me decide to ask for an exclaustration. The rest of the story was a history to be told!
