As member of the team working at a retirement community, I went with our cook, Joey Galvez, Medication staff Belle and Maricar, and caregiver staff Angelito- to spend some time with them after work hours at at a buffet restaurant at Glendale Calif. If I am not mistaken, the name of the restaurant was Vegas Buffet, and this is located near the famous Alex Theater where Filipino movies are usually being shown for their premier showings.
For the most part, I came to join the group that night to spend some bonding moments with them (all the five of us are Filipinos) and to get more acquainted with the rudiments of working with the caregiver staff, kitchen staff and the medication staff of the facility.
I never really realized how weak my control for food was, because, the foods at the buffet counters were all deliciously cooked and attractively prepared at table. So, I forgot all about my dieting and I kept coming back to the counters for as long as I wanted.
That day, I went home with a stuffed belly. The next day, I skipped breakfast and lunch.
